Christopher joined Dynamo Analytics in November 2020 as the Information Security Manager in the UK office. He is a proven cyber and information security professional with a background in offensive and defensive security, as well maturing security practices within large digital transformation projects. Chris brings with him over 20 years’ experience working across many industries which gives him the unique ability to weigh security controls and business requirements to formulate appropriate solutions.
Outside of work Chris loves rock climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding and motorcycling. He has also played volleyball competitively and still likes to play when he can.
Fun fact: This summer Chris cycled cross country from London to Brighton (C. 70 miles) and has his sights set on a multi-day trip biking around the Mont Blanc Massif in the French Alps next year (travel restrictions permitting).
Daniël joined the office in Stellenbosch as a graduate analyst in January of 2021. He studied at Stellenbosch University and completed his BCom Actuarial Science degree at the end of 2019 and hopes to finish his Honours degree in Actuarial Science during 2021. During 2020, Daniël completed his research project on the topic Estimating Old Age Mortality in South Africa. This was a challenging, but also very rewarding experience.
Daniël is passionate about problem solving and optimising the execution of different processes. He strives for excellence in whatever he does and values relationships with people around him. Daniël enjoys spending time in nature and taking part in activities such as tennis, jogging, Ultimate frisbee, soccer and touch rugby.
Fun fact: Daniël is an avid bird watcher and has identified around 500 bird species in Southern Africa.
Willem joined Dynamo in January 2021 as a Software Developer in the South African office. Willem studied Electronic Engineering at Stellenbosch and finished in 2019. He started working for MiX Telematics as a Junior Firmware Engineer prior to joining Dynamo. Willem is very analytical and enjoys solving problems and making systems as efficient as possible. He enjoys staying updated with the latest technology and software trends, and implementing it in his own projects.
Willem is married and has a one year old son. When he is not working, he enjoys fishing, hunting, playing golf and doing CrossFit, as well as cherishing time with his family and friends.
Liesbet joined Dynamo in February 2021 as a Graduate Actuary in the South African office. She completed her BCom Actuarial Science (Hons) degree at Stellenbosch University and is studying to become a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA). During her studies and vacation work, she gained some exposure to R, SAS and VBA and is keen to develop her coding skills further.
Outside of work, Liesbet has a range of interests including reading, sewing, playing soccer, and doing yoga. She also enjoys cooking, especially vegetarian meals even though she is not a vegetarian. Liesbet is excited to start her career at Dynamo.
Fun fact: During 2020 she, along with a few friends, produced and distributed face masks.
Issy started her career at the PRA in 2012, after graduating with a BSc in Financial Mathematics from the University of Sheffield. Issy originally joined Dynamo back in 2015, spending three and a half years in actuarial consulting. After gaining risk management experience within a top tier Lloyd’s managing agency, Issy returned to Dynamo in 2021 as our Actuarial Project Manager. Issy will support the delivery of our clients’ business transformation projects which rely on both consulting and Psicle.
Issy is passionate about problem solving and innovation. Outside of work Issy enjoys tennis, reading and baking and is hopeful that the Dynamo running club will motivate her to sign up for a long-distance run in 2021…
