Psicle® provides an enterprise-wide robust data framework and analytics environment in which subject matter experts can build, interrogate and report on their mathematical and business models. The environment allows users to build structured and auditable models, to investigate results and analyse the implications of decisions. Results of complex analyses are delivered to the business instantly in an engaging and repeatable manner. Entire process flows can be built within Psicle®, so that data and results from separate processes need never leave the environment, substantially reducing risk and resource requirements.

  • BUILD

    Models are built using an easy drag and drop interface, coupled with a powerful data management programming language. Users can choose to build using Psicle®’s advanced statistical capabilities, or are able to import external modules and applications into the Psicle® environment. The results from separate technical processes can be integrated, enabling an enterprise build-up of connected processes.

  • INTERROGATE

    Using interactive and visual tools, the statistical components of the models are built, run and interrogated intuitively. Psicle®’s interrogation dataobjects help users understand the results in a hands on and responsive environment, enabling analyses that aren’t possible in standard business tools.

  • REPORT

    The Psicle® environment is enterprise wide and collaborative, so all members of the team are able to build, run and report on the models. Reports and reporting components are available to any designated members of the business, from analyst to executive, enabling reporting to be instant, up-to-date and interactive.

  • "SOURCE" DATA OBJECTS

    Import data into the environment from a wide variety of sources, ranging from local files to integration with business data warehouses. All data within the Psicle® environment is stored and maintained in a robust SQL database.

  • "ENHANCED" DATA OBJECTS

    All data can be transformed, modified, enriched or segmented using the fully integrated SQL calculation engine. The dataobject supports standard algebraic and logic statements, classification and grouping methodologies, and datatable functionality of joining and appending dataobjects together.

  • "MATHEMATICAL" DATA OBJECTS

    Psicle®’s prebuilt mathematical and statistical engines cover a variety of standard actuarial and statistical functions, such as curve fitting, generating stochastic random variables, evaluating reinsurance structures and applying reserving techniques to data

  • "REPORTING" DATA OBJECTS

    Psicle® gives the users the ability to report on data or results at any stage of the modelling process using a combination of built-in interactive reporting functionality and a user-customisable reporting engine.

  • Capital Model

    A start-up Lloyd’s syndicate has been using Psicle® as its internal capital model for regulatory submission. Using the standard Psicle® mathematical dataobjects of random number generation and of applying copula structures, random variables representing business factors (such as attritional claims, catastrophe claims) are generated. Additional reinsurance and ESG components are used to evaluate the changes to the economic balance sheet. Reporting dataobjects allow the team to understand and explore the results in more detail, helping to highlight the implications of the results.

  • Analytics Model

    Psicle® was used as the analytics engine for a retail bank, where we used the platform to apply a variety of generalised linear models to their client survey data. This helped the team highlight the “surprising facts” where unintuitive results were explained by hidden causal factors, and helped the bank to confirm and refine its segmentation analysis.

  • Reserving Engine

    The logistics of managing the data and process flow in a large reserving project can be difficult. We use Psicle® internally for all reserving processes. This ensures that the initial reserving process can be fast and resource-light, and enables audit tracking of all changes and over-rides and provides a robust environment to calculate, manage and report on reserves.
